There will be a solar eclipse on Saturday 29th of March. You can also enjoy this special celestial phenomenon from Belgium, but only partially. The eclipse will start at 11h14 A.M., then we see the first contact between the moon and the sun. The sun is then at an altitude of 39° in the southeast. As the sun moves higher in the sky in a more south direction, the eclipse also gradually increases. At 12h07 P.M. we will finally see the maximum eclipse where, seen from Brussels, about 35% of the solar diameter will be covered by the moon. It's like seeing a giant "Pac-Man" in the sky. At that moment the sun is already at an altitude of 42°. Then the moon gradually disappears from before the sun until the last moment of contact about 1h02 P.M., then the eclipse is over.
